This is karthik, Sandhya's brother. She asked me to look through your postings which I've just done. for someone new to photography you have done wonderfully well. you certainly seem to have an eye for the compelling picture and your composition is very mature. many congratulations, keep the good work up and enjoy it. I also enjoyed the name you've chosen for your postings: Tequila shots; would like an explanation of the choice if possible. you might consider looking at the works of masters such as Ansel Adams, my favourite, and others online to develop a subjective feel for the good image. Very nice idea of selective desaturation. One suggestion here, the selection could have been more precise. I use this free software called as PhotoFiltre (http://photofiltre.free.fr/utils/pf-setup-en.exe)
which allows you a very precise edge based lasso selection at higher zooms and then you can do a great desaturation of the selected area.

Nice composition here and the selective desaturation really woeks well here! my only critique would be the cropping of the hand and the elbow.. else this is an excellent picture!

maybe you shud put up the image completely balck and white....then it will look evn better....the image in itself is pretty good!
